J. K. Ingalls Residence (1909), River Forest, Illinois
The J. Kibben Ingalls Residence, with its entry on the front facing the street, was built in 1909 of plastered surface and painted wood trim. It is one of Wright’s few symmetrical buildings after 1906 and is the last extant work in River Forest. According to Thomas Heinz, it is said that “Ingalls required Wright to give each room three exposures to allow maximum light and ventilation.”
