Roux Library (1941), Florida Southern College, Lakeland, Florida

Constructed between 1941 and 1945 at a cost of $120,000, the building originally housed the E. T. Roux Library. The nearly circular multi-terraced portion of the building was the library’s reading room.Today the room is named after a college benefactor and, at the time of our visit, houses the visitor center and gift shop. The Roux Library moved to a new location on campus, and the building was renamed the Thad Buckner building.
